2-day Cruise with Harvesting of Grapes
September and October are the harvest months in the Douro! And our 2-day Cruise will take you to live the true tradition. Start by boarding on a cruise to the beautiful Pinhão region. On the second day of the trip, we go to the vineyards of one of the most famous Douro Wine Estates for the cutting and treading of grapes, Douro meals, wine tasting and lots of entertainment. Day 1
- Check in and passengers boarding at the Vila Nova de Gaia Pier
- Beginning of the cruise to Pinhão
- Breakfast service
- Passage of the Crestuma-Lever Dam (14m difference in level)
- Passage of the Carrapatelo Dam (35m difference in level)
- Lunch service
- Expected arrival at Régua
- Passage through Régua Dam (28m difference in level)
- Expected arrival at Pinhão Pier
- Passengers disembark
- Transfer to a Charming Hotel in the Region
- Dinner served at the Hotel
- Free night
Day 2
- Breakfast at the Hotel
- Transfer to a Regional Wine Estate
- Reception and visit to the Wine Estate´s gardens, with Moscatel Wine and to the sound of traditional portuguese music
- Move on to the vineyards
- Beginning of the cutting of the grapes and transporting them to the mill (accompanying traditional Douro songs)
- Wine tasting assisted by winemakers from the Wine Estate, with some appetizers being served
- Traditional Douro lunch
- Beginning of the stepping of the grapes while singing
- Documented tasting of liqueur wines
- Transfer to Pinhão Train Station
- Return to Porto by Train
- Expected arrival at Porto (São Bento Train Station)
